Marc Wintgens (BSc) is leading the Global Serum Alliance. His focus is on facilitating the international trade of safe serum for cell culture applications for production of human and animal therapeutics and diagnostics as well as in academic and industrial research. At the same time, he’s an international consultant, giving advise in the cell culture sector at the levels of management, regulatory affairs and global sales.

For the past 46 years, he’s been active with several of the larger companies (Gibco, HyClone, ThermoFisher, Selborne, VWR, Biowest) in the areas of cell culture and molecular biology. Since 2000, Marc Wintgens is actively negotiating international regulation related to import/export and safe use of animal sera, on behalf of the global serum sector.

In 2006, he became the lead of the European regional advisory team of ISIA in the US.

In 2018, he joined the Global Serum Alliance (former ESPA), where his focus is on expanding the global international network of the association, to help simplifying the serum rules, while increasing the safe use of animal sera and to guarantee supply chain security.
