Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce that the deadline to submit your abstract for the 11th IABS Annual Statistics Workshop has been extended to June 30th, 2025.

This meeting will take place in Rockville, U.S.A., on October 22-24, 2025.

This face-to-face meeting will highlight the vital role of statisticians as strategic partners across various fields, emphasizing their contributions to science, engineering, business, and society. Discussions will include key themes such as differentiation, experimentation, collaboration, and innovation, showcasing how statistical expertise drives efficiency, fosters cross-functional partnerships, and accelerates advancements. Inspired by Dr. Robert Rodriguez’s "big tent" vision, the workshop will also explore strategies for effectively communicating the value of statistics to diverse audiences, reinforcing its impact on human welfare and the broader scientific community.

LOGISTIC DETAILS

Please address your abstract to secretariat@iabs.org 

Submit an abstract (in English) not more than 300 words (excluding title, authors, and affiliation), indicating which topic area you would like to be considered for and whether you have a preference for a talk or a poster.

The following topics related to the collaborative and contributory nature of our profession are included but other related ones may be considered:

  • Contribution & Differentiation: Statistical contributions to the CMC development and how we differ from other data-related roles.
  • Experimentation & Investigation: Unique statistical insights to guide experimentations and end-to-end CMC development.
  • Collaboration and Recognition: Opportunities to solve challenging problems through effective collaborations between statisticians, scientists, engineers and other partners.
  • Innovation & Acceleration: Breakthrough contributions that have made statistical analysis and inference easier and more robust, as well as current innovations that may accelerate our work.

In addition to the technical aspects, we are looking for talks that focus on what  statisticians bring to the table: statistical thinking, statistical inference, and an understanding of what statistical methodologies can and cannot do.

Access to meeting’s slides is given to meeting’s participants for a period of 4 weeks after the meeting.
Login and password are sent by email to participants right after the meeting.
Afterwards the slides are only accessible to IABS members, using their Member Login and Password.

PUBLICATIONS

Reports and proceedings of IABS conferences and workshops appear in its journal Biologicals, published by Elsevier.
